Children’s/Junior Program

Cornerstone runs a full children’s program each Sunday from 9:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Children in Kindergarten up to Grade 3 attend the Children’s Program and those in Grades 4 to Grades 7 attend the Junior Program. There is no need to sign up in advance; all children are welcome.

Both programs are divided into two sections: Koinonia Children (KC) and Worship.

KC begins at 9:30 a.m. and is similar to the Koinonia for other Cornerstone groups (for more information on Koinonia, go here[link]). Children may play games, do crafts, cook, or do other activities that reflect the day’s Bible lesson. KC is a great opportunity for kids to get to know each other and socialize in a more casual setting.

At 10:30, children are offered a simple, healthy snack and prepare for Worship. Worship begins at 11:00 and follows a similar structure as Cornerstone’s other worship services. Children sing songs, share praises and prayer requests, participate in tithes and offerings (if they wish), and listen to a short sermon prepared by the Worship leader.

After worship, children do worksheets, use the Bible to answer questions, or do other more independent activities that help them reflect on the day’s Bible lesson.

While it isn’t necessary, children are strongly encouraged to attend both KC and Worship.

For parents:

  • You must sign our attendance book when you drop your child off and when you pick them up. Having an older sibling sign is okay, as long as they are not part of the Children’s or Junior program (i.e. a child in the Junior program cannot sign in/out a sibling in the Children’s program).
  • Please pick up your children promptly at 12:15.
  • Though it’s not necessary, some children have found it useful to bring their own Bibles, pencil cases, and water bottles.

If you have any questions about either programs, please feel free to contact us.
